Yarn bombing on the Great Harbour Way

A favourite sculpture on the waterfront is Max Patte’s Solace in the Wind, of a naked man leaning into the wind, possibly about to dive off the wharf in front of Te Papa. The recent chilly weather has obviously concerned some of his admirers, so on a recent morning he was sporting a fine pair of knitted bathing trunks and a woolly hat, courtesy of One Yarn Bandits, a group of “yarn bombers” who crochet and knit additions to public objects.
